Bridge Street Market, Buy Local!

This is my favorite photo from yesterday's Bridge Street Market =)

For those of you who live in the Bradenton-Sarasota area, we have a Brand New, Fabulous, Artsy Market on Bridge Street this year! =) Wendy Edmond and I were lucky to have a booth there yesterday. Many artists were painting and creating in the open air, and it was a beautiful sight to behold. The sky was bluer than blue, and the weather was perfect. There was great live music, tasty food items and fresh produce, beverages and plants for sale, kittens at the animal rescue booth, massages being given, and more!

Bridge Street Market is on Bradenton Beach. It is open every Sunday 10a-3p through April. Come on out and buy local arts and goods in an awesome island atmosphere, with some new and different vendors each time.

Parrot T-Shirt is Finished; Carousel Horse Box is Begun

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments on my works in progress...and thank you for all of your good wishes for my upcoming art event! =) I haven't finished the angel relief yet, but here are pics of the completed parrot shirt....

I sketched and transferred my design for the Carousel Horse Box and have already started painting on it. I love the way it looks already, and will add highlights and a bit of color to give it that circus/carnival aura....

Paint Party Friday - Works in Progress

I've been keeping very busy lately.... getting ready for my booth at our annual Art Slam, which will be held on Oct 15th. Plans for handmade gift items are spinning through my head and making their way into reality =)

Spackling on canvas is forming into an angel relief....

Yesterday, color was added...a bit more work is needed here, softening edges and bringing out the angelic expression....

A Blue and Gold Macaw parrot on a sleeveless t-shirt waits impatiently to be finished.....

A carousel horse on a wood keepsake box is sure to appear next, but for now...it stays spinning around in the back of my mind =)

Red Sky Sunset - ACEO Theme Week

My favorite type of sky to look at is a fabulous, tropical red sunset. So, when I found out that August's ACEO Theme Week contest theme was "Sky", I just had to put one of my most cherished experiences on paper!

This ACEO (Art Card, 2.5x3.5in) is painted in acrylics, and was a blast to create.The reds in this painting are even more beautiful than the camera could capture, believe it or not!

PPF - A Day Late....Girl with Kitten Portrait

I have finally finished the portrait of my niece and her kitten...Yay!! I actually worked on this one for over a year. Still not sure its quite right, but I think I'd better give it to her before she gets gray hair, LOL!
