I guess Friday comes pretty fast, lol, because its 9pm and I have just remembered to join the party! I have been working on a portrait of my niece all week. Its a gift, and I don't want to show it just yet.
So, I have a painting in progress to show and tell about. Its a 4x6in watercolor and acrylic mixed media painting that I started a couple of months ago...and it has been sitting on the piano waiting for the perfect moment to realize itself ;)
You can see the fairy with the bird in the bubble, but can you see what else is emerging from this magical scene?

ReplyDeleteI see the fairy bubble and a tree in the background. Not sure what else, but it is intriguing!
ReplyDeleteKathryn, fantastic! I really love it! I see what Melisa sees, fairy, bubble, bird, tree and I think there is something under the tree? Not sure! Have a great weekend! ;o)
ReplyDeleteHi Kathryn, This is beautiful so far. I love the fairy in the bubble. I studied this painting and can't quite make out an elf, but I am intrigued and it will be fun seeing it finished.
ReplyDeleteI love the fairy in the bubble -- gorgeous! I'm not sure but something, a face?, behind the tree? Intriguing... can't wait to see what develops!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria, Christine, Melisa, Stacy, Marlene and Pam =) Yes, there is a tree in the background and "something" under the tree that I am planning to develop. There is definitely something behind the tree, which I don't know if I'll develop...but I'll wait to tell you my plans until everyone has had a chance to say what they see ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the blues and greens...the way she is encapsulated in the orb, not confined, but protected and nurtured like a baby in the womb...the way she gazes fully upon the bird, companions in this little world all to themselves. This painting gives me a good feeling :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
I love the fairy in the orb - so mystical! Can't wait to see how it develops.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely work. Full of magic. Love to see the finished piece. ;)
ReplyDeleteOooh, I see a tree in the background. I love this so far. Very whimsical. The fairy is absolutely gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteVictoria
Beautiful and peaceful painting. I'm loving the colors in and around your magic bubble. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your wonderful interpretation, Carrie. You are right, they are in their own little world in that bubble....and a loving bond is certainly there. The bubble is like a portal/vision that gives a glimpse of a place you wish you could be...or a memory of a place you have been? Reading everyone's comments has given me more focus on this piece, and I am beginning to see worlds overlapping worlds in it =) Kathryn
ReplyDeleteThank you Pointy, Hybrid, Deanna, and Ileana. I am so glad you stopped by to share the magic! Kathryn

ReplyDeleteThanks for adding that important insight, ileana =)We are gazing upon a peaceful world, where there is time to focus completely on love. It is magically inviting to us, and we cannot seem to look away ;) Kathryn
ReplyDeletemagically lovely piece ~
ReplyDeleteThe way you stand the painting is fun, go with what you said a first stain. I see the fairy in the bubble that forms part of the sky and I think that there should be a fairy to protect the land, I will wait to see how you solve it. Greetings
ReplyDeleteBeautiful concept am so loving this already, look forward to seeing it completed. Annette x
